One of the realities about the body of Christ I find challenging is that we don’t all agree on everything we understand to be true from Scripture. Someday when Jesus returns that will change – but until then the fact is there are some significant differences in beliefs among denominations and churches today.
The question is, “How should we handle those differences?” Some people (including folks I love and deeply respect) feel the best approach for Christians is to simply focus on the most fundamental truths we all have in common, and avoid talking about anything that is considered subject to interpretation or too controversial. Others (myself included) feel that doing so requires omission of important biblical principles and risks denying both new and maturing believers of the fullest possible understanding of God’s Word.
I have concluded that when presenting Christian content like we do here at Man Of Impact, it is better to be upfront about and true to what you believe scripture says, rather than to water down or compromise your content in an attempt to make everyone happy (which is an impossible task anyway).
Accordingly, all of the content presented on this website is grounded in the same “reformed” doctrinal perspective that I hold to personally (for a general overview of what that means to me, see this article). I’m a big fan of great Bible teachers like John MacArthur, Steve Lawson, Al Mohler, and others featured below – because these are some of the men God has used to radically impact my life, and the sources of teaching I believe can have the biggest impact in your life as well.
The great news is that if you are a “reformed guy” like me, you are going to feel right at home here – and be able to confidently recommend our resources to your church, family and friends. And if not, that’s OK too. We can still be friends and respect each other as follow members of the larger church body – you just might not agree with every article, video and resource you find here.
By the way, if you aren’t currently familiar with the differences between the major doctrinal perspectives, that’s fine. The materials we offer here are what I believe to be based on exceptionally sound biblical principles, and are always backed up by scripture – so stick around and get ready to be blessed!
